NCL is a non-profit coalition of unions dedicated to providing benefits to more than 280,000 union members in the construction industry. By working together to purchase benefits, NCL can achieve cost savings, allowing unions to provide these benefits to their members at either no cost or heavily discounted rates. Learn more about NCL and the benefits available. Life Insurance Non-retired members will receive $5,000 in free life insurance through VOYA, a leading insurance provider. In addition, supplemental life and AD&D insurance through VOYA, active members can elect to purchase up to $350,000 in additional coverage (on top of what the union already provides) at low cost, and with no medical exams or questions. This has truly been a game changer for thousands of members and their families, as many of our members struggle to purchase affordable coverage, or any coverage at all. Members must be active to purchase this supplemental coverage, but they can take it with them into retirement up to age 75. Members can enroll by visiting the VOYA website or calling (888) 212-7822. (Active members only) Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Non-retired members will receive $5,000 in free accidental death and dismemberment coverage, which provides benefits for covered accidents that result in a fatality, paralysis, the loss of a limb, eyesight, hearing, or speech. Members can also purchase up to an additional $350,000 in coverage, with no medical exams and no questions asked! Enrollment methods are listed under Life Insurance above. (Active members only) Short-Term Disability Insurance Short-term disability coverage though MetLife is available as well, with two levels of coverage available – $250 per week or $500 per week. Members must be active to purchase this coverage. During the first 12 months of coverage, benefits cannot be paid for pre-existing conditions – an injury or sickness for which the member has been treated in the 3 months preceding the effective date of coverage. (Active members only) Personal Firearm Insurance As a member, Personal Firearm Insurance is available through Right to Bear for a nominal fee. Members can enroll by visiting the Right to Bear website or by calling (883) 887-2327. Social Security Disability Insurance The NCL has partnered with SSDC Services Corp. (SSDC), a national advocacy firm specializing in Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits and Medicare coordination. SSDC identifies whether you or your dependent(s) are eligible for SSDI benefits and early Medicare and becomes your Advocate for filing and obtaining these benefits. In addition, membership in the Allstate Motor Club gives you access to discounts at hotels, automotive stores, restaurants, entertainment, and more. Members are already registered!
